Nestled amongst key city attractions, including the Botanic Gardens, Canterbury Museum and Christchurch Art Gallery, the Arts Centre is close to many of the new projects underway in Christchurch’s new-look city centre.
Foot traffic is boosted by the number of near-by office buildings and precincts in development.
Nearby office buildings such as HSBC Tower and Christchurch City Council’s headquarters are well-established, while the Deloitte and Wynn Williams buildings are significant new additions to the neighbourhood.
Ngāi Tahu Property’s new $150 million office and apartment complex will eventually bring the number of workers in an adjacent city block to over 3000, including 350 Government employees.
World-class facilities currently underway include the covered Metro Sports Facility and Convention Centre that will collectively position central Christchurch as a premier option for sporting and
other events, business and conferences. The new Bus Interchange is within walking distance, while the Arts Centre is also close to the developing Justice and Emergency Services,
and Health precincts.
Within the next few years, the community will benefit from the development of an $85 million, five-storey library on the corner of Gloucester and Colombo streets.
