The professionalism and positive attitude of the Arts Centre team made for an enjoyable journey as Hamish Evans established his cafe Bunsen in the Clock Tower building.
The owner of Switch Espresso and Black Betty opened Bunsen on the ground floor and outdoor terrace in November 2016.
Hamish says that when they won the tender for the former Le Cafe space, they didn’t truly understood the challenges of fitting out a listed heritage building.
“It was a big project. If it wasn’t for the likes of Warren & Mahoney, Holmes Consulting and the Arts Centre teams, our challenge would have been way harder.
“The professionalism, fast correspondence and the positive attitude truly made the journey achievable and actually enjoyable.”
Restoration of the 1877 Gothic Revival building gave it a new lease of life while retaining its beautiful heritage features – including the well-known mezzanine dining area and distinctive ceiling.
